Reading TO daddy

So Brian was putting Jeffrey down last night and was a little confused, Jeffrey kept grabbing one of his favorite books and giving it to Brian and grabbing it back, Jeffrey likes to sit in our lap when we read so he tried that too, no luck. Im not sure how all Brian deduced what was going on, but he figured out that Jeffrey wanted to read TO Daddy. So Brian would read a page and pass the book to Jeffrey who would repeat it back to him, mind you Jeffrey knows the word Dog, woff, and thats about it thats in this Dr Seuss board book, but he would make similar sounds. He knew what pages had words he knew and would put in corresponding sounds for the words he didnt.

How cute is that plus its all the more evidence that our baby isnt stupid. I dont mean to sound harsh, but my logic is at this stage you hope your child isnt stupid b/c its too early to ID a REALLY smart child esp with parent or grandparent bias so you instead cross your fingers that they are WNR (within normal range).

It really is pretty amazing, in the last week he just keeps picking up new words and never ones you expect like milk or fruit, the things we say all of the time. I mean he says outside, which since he loves the outdoors isnt a total suprise. but he got bubbles for easter from Beck and the second time we took them out he was saying bubbles. Its just great, even with the word NO (he learned that one last week).

Oh, Allie, anyone who has ever spent 5 seconds with Jeffrey can tell he's one smart cookie! He doesn't have to say a lot--just watch him checking out the situation! You can see the wheels turning! And that SEG (shit-eating grin, to coin a Mike phrase) tells you that he's up to a bit of mischief--again! He's probably too smart for his own good...
