Climbing and Imagination

So Jeffrey this week has learned to climb, if he could he would climb up the TV stand and book shelves, but I, "the mean mommy", have limited him to foot stools and the couch. So he now climbs up and then does this very cute hands above his head, "what kind of score does that one get?", pose. Unfortunatly he has no depth perception or idea that its not a good idea to just step off the couch or a step or the bed. So when we try to help him understand how to scoot off things he thinks we are starting the climb UP all over again or that he is being told he can't do it. And Im sure all you parents know what happens when a child thinks something is forbidden.
He also has discovered make believe, he now tries to feed his stuffed animals cherios and drinks from his sippy, he also feeds mom and dad. I have yet to decide if this is a sign of his generous nature or the thrill of figuring out the independence that comes from using his snack trap and sippy. He also began walking around with a book (although its sometimes upside down) making all kinds of sounds as he "reads" to all of us. Its very cute and quiet a big step up from trying to eat his books. (He may have inherited the Hitchman love of reading afterall. )
I will get picks of the reading up later today.

Well I have to say, you might have cursed him with all the climbing...after all he has to live up to his MONKEY name;)
A little tip about the climbing, we always taught our kids that when they get on the top (of whatever) that they have to roll over onto their bellies, and then get down feet first. I probably yell "belly, deagan, belly" eighty times a day- but he gets it and it's safe!
Will your cats eat cheerios? Olivia used to feed the cat cheerios from her snack trap:)
